Air Travel

Berlin hosts two international airports – Tegel (TXL) and Schönefeld (SXF). Tegel is situated in the north-west of the city and Schönefeld in the south-east.

From Tegel Airport the Estrel Berlin can be reached by bus plus rapid transit (S-Bahn) or by taxi. Using public transportation, take the X9 bus line from TXL to the “Jungfernheide” bus stop. Transfer then to the S42 S-Bahn commuter train line (Ringbahn) until “Sonnenallee”. The journey time to the Estrel Berlin by car is about 30 min and by public transportation about 40 min.

From Schönefeld Airport the Estrel Berlin can be reached by bus and taxi. Using public transportation, take the 171 bus line until you reach “Sonnenallee”. The journey time to the Estrel Berlin by car is about 15 min and by public transportation about 40 min.


Road Travel

From the West/South

When approaching Berlin from the A2 or A9 motorways, switch on to the A10/Berliner Ring, then onto the A115 and afterwards onto the A100 in the direction Wilmersdorf/Kurfürstendamm/Flughafen Schönefeld. Leave the motorway using Exit 26 "Grenzallee" and turn right at the traffic light onto the street called Grenzallee. Continue on Grenzallee for two more traffic lights, turning left at the second one onto the street called Sonnenallee and proceed for another half a kilometer where you will find the Estrel Berlin located on the right side of the street.

From the North

Take the A24 Dreieck Havelland interchange onto A10/Berliner Ring toward Berlin, then change onto the A111 motorway in the direction Flughafen Tegel/Berlin-Zentrum/Berlin-Reinickendorf. Shortly afterwards take the A100 motorway and then leave it at Exit 26, "Grenzallee". Turn right at the traffic light onto the street called Grenzallee. Continue on Grenzallee for two more traffic lights, turning left at the second one onto the street called Sonnenallee and proceed for another half a kilometer where you will find the Estrel Berlin located on the right side of the street.

From the East

When approaching Berlin from the A13 or A12/A10 motorways, take the "Schönefelder Kreuz" interchange onto the A113 toward Berlin-Zentrum. Then take Exit 26, "Grenzallee", turning right at the traffic light onto the street called Grenzallee. Continue on Grenzallee for two more traffic lights, turning left at the second one onto "Sonnenallee" and proceed for another half a kilometer where you will find the Estrel Berlin located on the right side of the street.

From Berlin Tegel Airport TXL

Take the "Saatwinkler Damm" slip road onto the A111 motorway toward Dresden/Magdeburg/Leipzig/Zentrum, which becomes the A100. Take Exit 26, "Grenzallee", turning right at the traffic light onto the street called Grenzallee. Continue on Grenzallee for two more traffic lights, turning left at the second one onto the street called Sonnenallee and proceed for another half a kilometer where you will find the Estrel Berlin located on the right side of the street.

From Berlin Schönefeld Airport SXF

When leaving the airport go right onto Am Seegraben/B96a, then left onto the A113 motorway in the direction Berlin-Zentrum. Take Exit 26, "Grenzallee", turning right at the traffic light onto the street called Grenzallee. Continue on Grenzallee for two more traffic lights, turning left at the second one onto the street called Sonnenallee and proceed for another half a kilometer where you will find the Estrel Berlin located on the right side of the street.

The hotel has its own underground parking garage offering 450 parking spaces (€ 15.– per day).

 

Rail Travel

The Estrel Berlin is located approximately 20 minutes (by car) or rather 40 minutes (with public transportation) away from Berlin Central Station (Hauptbahnhof).

From Berlin Central Station (Hauptbahnhof), take the bus line M41 until you reach “Ziegrastraße”.

 

Public Transportation

Berlin Central Train Station (Hauptbahnhof)

Take the M41 bus line until you reach the "Ziegrastraße" stop.

Südkreuz Station

Take the S42 S-Bahn commuter train line (Ringbahn) until you reach the "Sonnenallee" stop.

Ostbahnhof Station

Take either one of the S5, S75 or S9 S-Bahn commuter train lines until you reach the "Ostkreuz" station. Then transfer to the S41 S-Bahn line (Ringbahn) and continue until you reach the "Sonnenallee" stop.

Public Transport Tickets

To reach the Estrel using Berlin’s public transport facilities, you will require a single journey ticket for the AB zone costing € 2.40 (Exception: Please note that when travelling from the Berlin-Schönefeld Airport SXF, you will require an ABC zone ticket costing € 3.10). You can purchase tickets at the BVG service counters, the BVG ticket vending machines located in the S-Bahn and U-Bahn stations or on busses directly from the driver (please have change ready for bus drivers).

Tickets and Fares

In Berlin you will get transported quickly and comfortable to virtually any area in town by Berlin Transport Authority (known as BVG) which provides buses, underground trains (U-Bahn), rapid transit (S-Bahn) and night buses, which make sure, that you will reach your destination also in the wee hours of the morning. You can choose the right ticket, depending on your needs, for example the Berlin CityTourCard, including discounts on entrance fees besides free public travelling. Taxi

You can get a taxi in three different ways. The easiest one is to hail a taxi on the street with an illuminated sign on the roof (only illuminated taxis are vacant). Otherwise if you are located at a taxi rank, you can choose any taxi you want, optionally a Green Taxi (“Umwelttaxi”), as long as the rank offers enough space to leave. Last but not least, you can order a taxi by calling one of the taxi call centers, the numbers are listed below.
